The Power of Slow Art and Friendship: Laura’s Reflections from our Last Artist Book Entry
Dear Tina,
Can you believe we’ve reached the last page of this book project? It’s kind of crazy to think how many moments, reflections, and bits of beauty we’ve shared back and forth—like a long, meandering conversation that’s unfolded one page at a time.
Looking back, there have been so many themes that bubbled up—nature, connection, the circle of life, paying attention, trusting the process, honoring where we are, and finding meaning in the everyday. It’s been such a grounding and inspiring rhythm, getting to show up for each other in this way.
This book has been a reminder that creativity doesn’t always have to be big and bold. Sometimes it’s quiet, slow, and personal. And sometimes it looks like a note, a sketch, an experiment, or just a thought passed between friends.
Even though this is the last page in this particular chapter, it doesn’t feel like an ending—more like a breath, a pause, maybe even a soft transition into whatever comes next. I’m so proud of what we created together and so grateful we carved out space for this kind of making.
The book started with nature and will end with nature. I’ve included a painting of banana leaves whose form I fell in love with on my recent trip to Italy. The sacred symbol of the banana leaf represents abundance and growth~intentions I hope will continue to blossom in our work together.
Big hugs and so much love,
Laura
